The Economics of Climate Change Adaptation

The capacity building Programme on the Economics of Climate Change Adaptation (ECCA) in Asia is a cooperative effort between UNDP, the USAID ADAPT Asia-Pacific Project, the Asian Development Bank, the Global Water Partnership and Yale University.

The ECCA programme, launched in 2012, resulted from a regional consensus on the need to build governments’ capacity in mainstreaming climate risks into planning processes to ensure economically-efficient climate change strategies and plans.

Building on the experience and knowledge gained during the implementation of the ECCA programme, UNDP entered in a partnership with the Asian Institute of Technology, through its Regional Resource Centre for Asia and the Pacific, to develop and convene a regional training course on the Economics of Climate Change Adaptation, with two runs planned for August 2017 and February 2018.
